Four Quadrants offer Personal and Professional Satisfaction

Wouldn’t you love to be more effective with your time? What if I could help you maximize your day and the time you spend doing certain things. The Four Quadrants have been a huge part of my success, both personally and professionally. Using the Four Quadrants is a way of organizing thoughts and teaches how to separate our priorities, placing them in our “Urgent” box, or “Important” box. Ever notice that we ail in the things we say we don’t have time for, can’t commit to, and often have the most problems following through. The Four Quadrants have been recognized as a higher-level of understanding in how to become more effective with our time in relationships, in business and in life.

We all know the daily grind can be overwhelming by the number of priorities we have. Between our home, job, children, pets, and marriage, all of the above seem to effortlessly fall into the “Urgent” box. But are they really “Urgent?”

I’m sure you know the familiar saying, “I can’t be all things to all people…” – and you can’t, because every time you try you’ll end up feeling drained, unsatisfied and unsuccessful.

I have found a great sense of professional and personal satisfaction through the use of Quadrants. My goal in using them is to outline my priorities and in the order I need them to happen. Quadrants have helped release the overwhelming parts of my everyday life. There are no more feelings of inundated stress, pressure, or unrealistic expectations. Think about it – all the unnecessary stress and overload we place on ourselves, and for what? Only 50% of the things I used to have on my “list” actually needed to get done, the remaining 50% was nonsense – busy work that didn’t create any positive long term impact. Here’s how Quadrants work:

Guarding my time wisely, I begin every day with Quadrant 1. When this has been successfully completed I move on to Quadrant 2, then Quadrant 3, and finishing with Quadrant 4. Organizing my day helps me validate all I accomplish, knowing it was meaningful and impactful.

Wow…and I always thought spelling was important! Did you understand what you were just reading? A study from a University declared that the order of letters within words is actually insignificant. You see, if the first and last letter in a word is accurate, even if the rest are skewed, most can still comprehend what they are reading. Amazing, right?!…Then again, is it really all that remarkable?

Need-to-Know Tools for Success

Getting Past the Learning Curve of Prospecting, Tracking and Ratios

Welcome to home-based business! Today, I want to help you capitalize on your prospecting efforts. For many, one of the biggest obstacles in home-based business is learning how to effectively prospect and follow-up. If this isn’t done correctly, it can be drastic to your bottom-line; literally, the difference of money in your pocket, or not. Having a home-based business is one thing, but “working it” is another. If you want to gain success in this industry, you are going to need the right Prospecting and Tracking tools to succeed.

Over my last 13 years as an Industry Leader, I’ve led more than 200,000 people into a successful home-based business. To save you from the time and expense of “learning for yourself” – Here’s what I can offer; tips to help you create your own, easy-to-follow system so you can maximize your Prospecting.

1.   Tracking. If you have begun prospecting, then it is essential you are tracking.  This should be done on a constant basis, but for an exact depiction of your own percentage of conversions, this should be done over a 6 week period.
2.   Contacts. Know how many contacts you will need per day, per week, and per month, to achieve your goals.
3.   Know the Numbers. Learning your percentage of conversions will determine exactly what it will take to get the results you want.  You should never take your business or opportunity for granted.  Always know the where’s, how’s, when’s and why’s you will need for your business to grow. (see P.S. below about ratio calculations)
4.   Establish a tracking method.Use these questions to help establish a tracking method: How many calls have I made, how many presentations, how many closes and how many new enrolls do I have? Understand, with numbers, you must know the good and the bad in order to effectively gage your growth. Be realistic with where you are and hopeful for your future.
5.   Get Results. If you find yourself struggling to get results, refer to your tracking method as an indicator. This can show where important areas of improvement can be made. Are you setting appointments, but once there, are not closing? This could be a good indicator that there is work to be made on your closing skills.
6.   Form Good Habits. Ask yourself these questions on a daily basis: How many calls am I making? What type of leads am I working? Are my calls made on an appropriate day, at a proper hour? How are my presentation skills? Am I creating a sense of urgency, and sparking interest? Am I trying to close the deal, each and every time? Am I being persistent, or too pushy? Am I forming relationships? Have I shown my credibility and shared my story? Did I pre-qualify correctly? If there was any sign of hesitation, did I use Feel-Felt-Found? (I know how you feel, others have felt the same, what we have found is…) Do you know enough about your prospects, that if asked, you would know where they are now and where they would like to be in the future? Ask yourself, how can I help them reach success? Form good habits when connecting with your prospects, as they will become your business partners.
7.   Reach Your Goals. Be consistent, always measuring success along the way. At a minimum, you should be revisiting your follow-up and prospecting method every 6 weeks. Bear in mind, every prospect is a potential enroll.
The relationships you form in this industry will be some of the greatest in your life. Make the most of your home-based business by learning early-on how to measure your success. And if needed, change it up a bit along the way. If something isn’t working, don’t be afraid to try something new. P.S. An example to help better understand how to calculate ratios: Let’s say your goal is to recruit/enroll 5 people per month. You will want to know how to calculate what you’ll need in order to reach your goals. This can also help determine what you may need to improve on over time.  In the beginning, it may take as many as 50 contacts, 75 or even 100 per week. If you made 50 calls, spoke to 11 live prospects, set or conducted 8 appointments and enrolled 1, your ratio would be 50:11:8:1. Thus to enroll 1 person, it took 50 calls.  From this example: it would take at least 250 calls to recruit/enroll 5 people per month. Every person’s skill set will vary, therefore ratios will always vary, which is why it’s all the more important to keep 6 weeks’ worth of steady tracking.

  • I am going to stop doing the things that don’t contribute to my well-being. I will start doing more of the things that do.

How can I know this is Your Year? Because each year is a new opportunity for you to shine! So the question becomes: will you treat these hurdles as barriers or opportunities? No one can choose or change your outcome, except for you. Will you let the fact that you don’t have enough money, education, or even contacts keep you in a rut, rather than moving forward? You see, at the end of the day no one is responsible for you, except yourself.

In life, you will encounter many who will tell you that you won’t succeed. They’ll point out pitfalls and shortcomings. Ever notice how the world does this to one another, time and time again? You can’t become discouraged by this nonsense. Be fearless. Be unaffected. If anything, it should make you even more up for the challenge.

If you’ve been fortunate enough to have had people in your life that encouraged you, believed in your thoughts, ideas, and aspirations, consider yourself lucky. Maybe it was a parent, teacher, or sibling when you were young, or perhaps a spouse, or friend now. Listening to a continual voice of encouragement embeds a confidence within us that permeates through our life. When we’re young, we build our sense of self from these voices, as they bring an internal flood of hope and confidence.

Over time, through the ups and downs, the most crucial messages we receive are the ones we give ourselves. Trust me; we aren’t always as nice to ourselves as we should be. The world will sometimes appear to be watching with baited breath to try and push you backwards. Do not be discouraged. You will persevere towards your dreams. Never tell yourself…I’m not smart enough, attractive enough, good enough…and so on. Encourage yourself! Practice saying…I am worthy, I will succeed, I will try, and say it again and again. Place an “I” in front of the encouraging words you tell yourself, you will be amazed by what self-empowerment will do.

2011 is Your Year! Focus on developing an internal voice of repeated inspiration. You will soon find this crucial business skill has become second nature. After all, as a business owner, you’ll face disappointing situations – the loss of an important customer or employee, the failure to get financing or make a big sale, economic downturns and increased competition. What will you say to yourself when these situations arise?

Never dismiss the reality of these difficulties; you will learn through all of your obstacles, and count on yourself for positive strength. Give yourself realistic, positive internal discussions, and always remind yourself of the skills and attitudes which have allowed you to succeed up to this point. Remember, you can’t motivate others if you can’t motivate yourself.

Why Network Marketing? Am I Crazy?

Most call me driven Ok, so am I nuts, or just lucky?! Since I know I’m not nuts, and luck can only take you so far, it must be something more.
